About the WPAWashington Park is a 100-year-old, 22-acre park in Hudson County between Union City and Jersey City. Washington Park Association of Hudson County, Inc. (WPA) was founded in 2008 by a group of residents in the vicinity of the Park. The goal was to create opportunities for positive change in the Park which in turn would improve the surrounding neighborhoods and create a stronger sense of place for area residents. WPA is an entirely volunteer run and operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit managed by dedicated Hudson County residents.
MissionThe WPA vows to work with the community to revitalize, maintain and protect Washington Park, and promote its use through the development of programs and activities that enhance the quality of life of park users and local residents. We believe that by engaging residents in activities that improve their neighborhoods, civic pride and care increases, leading to healthier, wealthier, and progressive communities.
