We are expecting more than 3,000 people this year at WP Live! it's going to a huge celebration of arts, music, dance and community! Come enjoy the work of local visual artists, musicians, and dancers, tour our community gardens, take part in the activities for kids and even work out creatively with local fitness artists and yoga experts. Grab a cold brew at our first Beer Garden while listening to LIVE music and chow down on food from one of our many food trucks and local food vendors. A whole day of free family fun right in your favorite park!

Transportation:

Jersey City Department of Cultural Affairs and the Department of Recreation will provide free Shuttle Buses throughout the day. Buses will bring event goers from WP Live, to the Golden Door International Film Festival and to the All About Downtown Festival. See schedule & pick up locations below.

NJ Transit bus 84/86 or 22 from Hoboken or Jersey City to Palisade Ave and Paterson Plank Road. NJ Transit bus 123 from NYC to Palisade Ave and 3rd St in Union City – Stop is one block from the event. NJ Transit Light rail to 9th St/Congress stop, take elevator up and walk one block north to Washington Park. More info can be found at www.njtransit.com.
New Event Location

This year WP Live! will be held at Palisade Avenue between Paterson Plank Road & 2nd Street and in the adjoining part of Washington Park. This section of Palisade Ave will be closed to traffic from 7am-7pm. 2nd St from New York Ave to Palisade will also be closed to traffic for the O'Connell's 5K Run to Cure Cystic Fibrosis from 7am-7pm. There will be no parking on Palisade Ave from 2nd St through North St and no parking on North St from Palisade Ave through Webster Ave. (See maps below).

We have awesome volunteer positions available throughout the day. It's a great way to give back to the community, meet new people, and be involved in this fantastic festival. Plus you get a Free WPA t-shirt!

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Volunteer training dates are from 7 to 8 PM on
Thursday, Sept 11, Friday, Sept 12, Thursday, Sept 18, and Friday, Sept 19 in Washington Park #4 (Palisade Avenue & Paterson Plank Road).

Hacking Heights Fashion & Norene Leddy return with a recycled clothing swap, a "Trashion" Show and more fashion workshops! 

Learn how to customize clothes from the swap, or bring some from home. The DIY fashion sessions are free and sign up is not required, but if too many people sign up for a workshop, priority will be given to those who signed up in advance.

Bembe Collective an Afro-latino and Caribbean music, dance, and theater group presenting the folklore of Afro-Latino cultures through an urban, contemporary lens
Nrityalina Center for Performing Arts a premier performing arts center based out of NJ/NY which is dedicated to promoting Indian culture in the form of Dance, Music and Drama. They will be performing Bharatnatyam Shloka (Indian Classical), Classical Bollywood, and Bollywood Funk

"The Odd Way Home" movie screening presented by the Golden Door International Film Festival  & WPA. Starring Chris Marquette and Rumor Willis. Two strangers, each living at the edges of society, are fatefully united for a harrowing and inspirational journey through the enchanting vistas of New Mexico. A passionate young woman escaping her abusive past, and a reclusive young man with Autism, take a journey that redefines the notion of family. Meet the director Rajeev Nirmalakhandan at WPLive. Written by Rajeev Nirmalakhandan and Jason Ronstadt. Screening starts at sundown 7-8:30 pm.

For the first time attendees can grab a cold brew at the Beer Garden which will be located right in the center of Palisade Ave; selections will include Flying Dog Woody Creek, Lagunitas IPA, Sly Fox Pilsner and Weyerbacher Autumnfest. You'll be able to sip a cold beverage while enjoying tasty treats from local restaurants & gourmet food trucks.
