WPA Planting in the Park with Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks
Goldman Sachs employees joined the Washington Park Association of Hudson County on May 31st, 2013 as part of Community TeamWorks, the global volunteer program encouraging Goldman Sachs employees to take a day out of the office and spend it volunteering with local nonprofits. On a rather hot day, 19 Goldman Sachs volunteers and several WPA members joined forces with Hudson County Division of Parks employees to shape, spruce-up and replant the garden beds in the Learning Garden area of Washington Park. The Learning Garden, a valuable community resource to educate residents and visitors about permaculture and environmental sustainability, sits in the area of the park where Webster Avenue meets Paterson Plank Road. With the hard work and support of the Goldman team, we planted four new trees, two new shrubs, perennial plants, weeded and mulched all the gardens. A huge thank you to the Goldman Sachs volunteers for their dedication and support of the Planting in the Park Garden Program in Washington Park!
